Lucy Margaux Catastrophe 2016
A fun and funky natural wine from Anton van Klopper.
Primarily Pinot Noir with Chardonnay and Merlot for good measure. The nose is aromatic with mixed berries, fresh citrus fruits and a hint of balsamic vinegar. The palate is fruity with rich red cherries.
Lucy Margaux 'Little Creek' Pinot Noir 2016
Little Creek is one of the three single vineyard wines released each year by Anton.
A darkly fruited wine with notes of dark cherry and plum alongside the brighter strawberry notes. Notes of spice, earth and graphite come through alongside the more youthful primary notes. Smooth and fresh, this is a highly drinkable wine and once again a real highlight. Made without additions, this wine opens up beautifully with decanting.
Lucy Margaux Merlot 2016
Eucalyptus, cinnamon hot cross buns... there's a dryness underneath rich red fruits. All the elements are built around a central berry sweetness.
Lucy Margaux 'Village Of Tiers' Pinot Noir 2016
Anton's house blend of Pinot Noir from multiple sites. Made without sulphites or any tinkering, as with all other wines in this release.
A fine boned Pinot with an elegant and silky palate. Brambly red fruits and light strawberry sit alongside notes of lemongrass and brambles. A touch funky on first opening, this wine really opens up with air. A great food wine.
