We're All Mad Here - An Orange Wine From Orange


The latest in The Oak Barrel‘s ‘We’re All Mad Here‘ range has landed in store – and this one’s something special.

The Orange di Orange is an skin contact white wine (orange wine) from Orange, NSW. It’s an aromatic blend of Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and Riesling fermented on skins in open top barrels.

This wine is wonderfully textual with aromas of apple, stone fruit and mango alongside plenty of savoury spice. The colour of the wine is of course bright orange. The wine has both fresh acidity and a subtle richness. Very tasty and beautiful to drink with food or alone.

If you’ve never tried a skin contact wine, this is a great place to start.

We’re All Mad Here is our in-house label. Each year we ask a winemaker to create a new experimental wine for us. In the past we’ve had wines from James Erskine of Jauma (SA), and the Chalmers Bucketwine Project (VIC). This year we asked winemaker Tom Ward of Swinging Bridge Wines (NSW).
