Wendouree Wines Limited Release Offer

We're very excited to offer our wine-loving customers access to the latest allocation from Wendouree.

Having supported Wendouree for the last 30 years, we are one of the only stores in Australia to receive an annual allocation of this cult wine - something we're quite honoured by. Wendouree is one of Australia's most collected wines and it is getting harder to secure each new vintage.

Presented to the best restaurants across the world, we also cellar some rare back vintages which are now available online.

If we look to Langtons for a list, Australia's top wines include names like Penfolds Grange, Henschke's Hill of Grace, Wendouree Shiraz, Mount Mary Quintet, Moss Wood Cabernet, Penfolds Bin 707 and the Leeuwin Estate ‘Art Series’ Chardonnay.

Household names to serious wine fans and collectors, each of these are available to purchase through a number of retail outlets, with the exception of Wendouree - which is available through an exclusive mailing list only.

The love of Wendouree is long-held, as is its history. It started in 1893 where the vines were first planted by Alfred Percy Birks. The vines are derived from the original James Busby Collection, which came via the Adelaide Botanical Gardens. The 100–year–old stone winery is virtually unchanged from the day it was built.

Lita and Tony Brady bought the property in 1974 and have continued the pursuit of excellence, having been involved in nearly 40 vintages since.

In more exciting new for red wine lovers...

The Oak Barrel will be partnering with Gourmet Traveller WINE for  International Grenache Day.  

We're doing that by way of an exceptional lunch event at Bennelong Restaurant.

Hosted by Nick Stock and Russ Mills, with matching food by Peter Gilmore,  21 superb grenaches will be served. With top wines from famous French regions Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, as well as leading drops from Spain and around Australia, it's about to become obvious why Grenache deserves its very own day.
