Tuscany Wine Dinner

22/09/2016

With Florence as its capital, Italy's Tuscany region is probably the world’s most recognisable centre of Renaissance art and architecture. It boasts Michelangelo’s David statue, the leaning tower of Pisa and, obviously, Chianti’s olive groves and vineyards.

Tuscany is home to some of the world's most notable wine regions. Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. All this famous names are both household and cult.

This October we're delighted to present an exploratory wine evening for Tuscany. We will go through the complex system of Denominazioni di origine controllata (DOC) and Denominazioni di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) and understand the specific climate and geography of Tuscany and why that makes this region so unique and unreplaceable.

From some of the great Tuscan estates, this tasting will showcase some benchmark wines from Chianti Classico, Montalcino, Bolgheri and San Gimignano.

We will provide some food on the night, including: Antipasto platter, prosciutto and rockmelon, meatballs, cheese plate and caprese sticks with San Daniele...

Come on a journey with Matt Irwin, Italian Wine Specialist at Trembath & Taylor, as he recounts tales from his many trips to Tuscany visiting the estates and tasting with the producers.
