New World Whiskies Masterclass

This October we’re stepping into the future of whisky with a masterclass featuring a host of new world producers.

At the New World Whisky Masterclass we won’t be sampling any Scotch, nor will we be drinking from the long-established whisky history of Ireland or America.

Instead, we’ll be tasting drams from countries like Italy, India and Sweden – long-time passionate consumers of whisky, but only taking their baby steps when it comes to producing.

From single casks to local oak and peated expressions, there’ll be a range of flavour profiles, styles and stories hosted by The Oak Barrel’s whisky guy Scott Fitzsimons. A very unique selection of whiskies which have (likely) never been assembled together before.

It’s all happening Wednesday 12 October at The Oak Barrel. Tickets are strictly limited.

We’ll be trying the following whiskies:

Bains Cape Single Grain (South Africa, 43%)
Mikkeller Black Oloroso Cask
(Denmark, 43%)
Mackmyra Svensk Ek (Sweden, 46.1%)
Paul John Cask #987 (India, 57.7%)
Penderyn Peated (Wales, 46%)
Puni Alba (Italy, 43%)
