Christmas Tipples

16/12/2015

With one week left until the big day it's time to select the wines to accompany your festive feast. Each of the staff have their season picks, so we thought we'd put together a short guide of our best offers.

1. Leon Launois Champagne
This is an excellent champagne for Christmas lunch. It's elegant, aromatic, and incredibly moreish. A single bottle will set you back $64.95, but we recommend picking up 2 for $100. Pairs well with prawns and oysters.

2. Cremant d'Alsace Domaine du Moulin de Dusenbach
This award winning cremant (a blend of Pinot Blanc) is beautifully balanced. Fine and dry, it's filled with refreshing citrus fruits and white peach. Single bottles are $34.95 each, but you can pick up 2 for $50. Similar to the Champagne, the cremant is best matched with seafood.

3. Eldridge Estate Pinot Noir Gamay blend
An unusual blend, but perfect when matched with roast turkey and cranberry (or glazed ham). A wonderful floral aroma of red roses, the palate is all bright raspberries with a delicate but slightly savoury edge. $39.95 each or $35.95 in any 6.

4. Bonnet-Huteau 'Les Dabinieres' Muscadet
This is one of our favourite summer wines! Light and elegant, this packs plenty of refreshing lemon citrus notes. $29.95 each or $26.95 in any 6.

5. Le Chaz Rosé
A classic dry Provençal Rosé. Aromas of strawberries and pomegranate followed by fleshy red plum on the palate. Crisp and refreshing, this wine is perfect for a balmy summer evening with friends (or by yourself?). $19.95 each or 2 for $30.

If you're a member, you'll also receive your 10% discount on these prices. What more could you ask for Christmas?
