Aussie Whisky Masterclass: 2016 Releases

24/05/2016

We at the Oak Barrel love Australian whisky and we’ve have a long history of association with distillers around the country. It’s incredibly exciting to see the unprecedented interest in the category for both established labels and newcomers alike.

From country New South Wales to South Australia and the heart of Tassie, there’s never been a wider range of flavours and experiences coming from Aussie whisky. If there’s any problem at the moment is that there’s just not enough to always go around! Single cask releases of 200-odd bottles (or less) are getting snapped up before a lot of people can try them.

So in the interest of getting some great Aussie whiskies into people’s mouths, we’ve collected a few bottles released in the recent weeks for an Aussie Whisky Tasting.

Hosted by The Oak Barrel’s Scott Fitzsimons, we’ll be trying six new releases from six different distilleries/producers across Australia. They’re expressions which are very small runs, which are largely sold out and – most importantly – are all Australian whiskies that we want as many people to try as possible.

Don’t delay in grabbing tickets, this will sell out quickly and tickets are strictly limited. We can’t do two nights because we don’t have the stock!
