14/07/2016

Exciting times on a number of fronts today, with the latest allocation of Adelphi single casks in store now. As well as the new expressions, there’s a few museum releases from casks bottled eight years ago...

WHISKY FAIR MASTERCLASSES

But first, we’re happy to confirm three more tastings as part of our Whisky Fair Masterclass Series. This year’s we’re hosting a range of whisky masterclasses in the lead-up to the Whisky Fair (which is well-and-truly sold out).

The Masterclasses are intimate sit-down opportunities to experience and learn about a distillery or brand and take place in the weeks leading up to this year’s event on 26/27 August.

The final tickets for the already-announced Limeburners event of the WA distillery’s upcoming releases are on sale now, but we’ve just confirmed events from Chicago’s Koval, indie bottler Signatory Vintage and Islay’s Bruichladdich. Click through for more details.

NEW (AND OLD) ADELPHI SINGLE CASK

A real treat of an allocation this month, with the new Adelphi releases and a handful of museum expressions. The latter were bottled in 2008 and discovered in a warehouse last year by Adelphi. They’ve bene reclaimed and repackaged and are available in very limited quantities. They hark back to the era that really establish Adelphi as one of the world's top independent bottlers of single cask whiskies.

The company buys casks already matured to bottle (as opposed to maturing them themselves) and the Adelphi brand has synonymous with top quality whisky for years. They also own the Ardnamurchan distillery on Scotland's east coast, which distilled its first spirit in 2014.

The museum releases include mythical bottlings like an 18-year-old sherry cask Macallan, a 15-year-old Clynelish, 1996 Ben Nevis and 1970 from the now-demolished Caperdonich.

The new releases are equally mouth-watering, with young sherry cask Bunnahabhain and Glenrothes casks as well as a 25-year-old Highland Park, 29-year-old Cragganmore and 32-year-old Teaninich.
