There’s a growing number of overproof gins on the market – that’s what happens when you let Australians make gin – and Sydney’s Archie Rose are about to add to that with a brand new creation.

The Distiller’s Strength is a brand new product from the team at Archie Rose, an overproof (50% plus ABV) crafted to the tastes of the distillers themselves.

After four months of testing (or tasting) they’ve settled on a botanical bill of 15 – including pears from Orange, rose petals, elderflower and distilled honey taken direct from the beehives on the roof of The Cannery, one of Archie Rose’s neighbours.

Each of these botanicals has been distilled separately, as is the process with their classic gin.

The most common question we get about these high-strength gins is “how do we use them?” Apart from drinking them straight, which is totally fine and OK, the extra oomph often lends itself well to aromatic, delicious takes on traditional cocktails.

So that’s exactly what we’re gonna do.

Guided by Archie Rose Ambassador Lachie Beange we’ll be among the first in the world to give the new Archie Rose Distiller’s Strength Gin a spin, sampling it neat and in three bespoke, full strength cocktails: negroni, martini and the good old G&T.

Join us to talk gin, drinks and make some new friends.

Archie Rose in Sydney’s inner-suburb Rosebury have been distilling since February 2015 with grand plans for whisky, gin, rum and vodka. As well as being one of the most exciting things to happen to Sydney in ever, their gin, vodka and white rye releases have become immediate favourites in bars (public and private) around Australia.
